Yay Adam! Salvation and paradise... that seems about right. But exactly how does Sal want to be saved? What is he being saved from? And paradise? What exactly is his paradise? It's obviously not drugs and girls and alcohol, since he already has all of that. Someone said this before- it's Sal's constant search for these two things that keep him moving, but what is actually at the end of the road?

And something totally different. I was intrigued by the "beat" generation, and why Kerouac decided to define his generation in that way. It's not exactly a generation; it's more of a group of elite friends, which kind of reminds me of the Transcendentalists. They're quirky.
