So I'm only a little bit into the reading, but this quote really stuck out to me: when Sal says, "This can't go on all the time--all this franticness and jumping around. We've got to go someplace, find something." And this is when he's talking about how he wants to find someone to marry. I think it's a big theme in the story, and also a big part of human nature. I mean, isn't that what everyone wants? Just a place where they can settle down & belong.
