A lot of people have been saying that they treat women really badly, and, like Jeff was saying, while this is true mostly with Dean, it's not as true with the other characters, especially looking at Sal. Like Atid said, I also think that was just part of the time--I mean, look at the 60's; they had a pretty-um-carefree attitude then too.
I also agree with Liz in that Sal's view of Dean changes. And the book is becoming more depressing, like other people said. Sal is never really happy anymore, and it surprised me that Marylou deserted him. I thought they would end up together for a while, but I suppose he doesn't have anyone to count on now. Being a BEAT must be a pretty lonely existence.
