I do not like this book, there I said it.

I really do not like this book. It goes all over the place, and it is like another Holden Caulfield from the terrible book of Catcher in the Rye where he does not know what to do with himself and it is a journey of discovery. Now I do not mind reading a story about discovery but the I just find Sal has no idea or clue as to what to do and until he realizes it, he just does anything to pass the time. I especially dislike Dean because he is a jerk and he is not respectful to women and of course he is just bringing Sal along for the ride for a buddy while Sal actually wants to find his place in the world and Dean is only thinking about himself. I cannot wait to end this book.

Okay, on a positive note, I thought the connection between the girl in the "Doug" show being a beat was amazing. Sarah, how on earth did you figure that out?!? I have not seen that show in such a long time and it was so good, well props.

Also, Jed I agree with you that that it is strange, abnormal, creepy, disturbing, etc. for Dean to watch Sal and Marylou make love. I think anyone you ask will say the same thing. But, what I don't understand is why on earth would he ask that. Sicko!! Not to mention, how awkward would that be if your best friend asked you that? Is it because he wants to test Marylou's love for him? But like Adam said, since Sal does not make love to her it gives Dean some relief knowing he has a really good friend and just also that Marylou did not sleep with Sal.
