NO! NO! NO! Why did he have to leave Terry? I do not necessarily think he acted differently around her, but, I believe that she really did change him and when she was in his life, the book was so much better then before. But now he has gone off and left her. What an idiot. Who cares about going back home? He already mentioned that California is the promise land and he wanted to get out of New York so why is he going back? Then he kept saying he wanted to go home. Kerouac stop making your character contradict himself! Just because Keroauc was having a jolly old time writing this book on an acid high does not mean we should have to suffer by reading it. This style of a dreary depressing guy is making me annoyed. Ever since he left Terry the mode has changed drastically. He is negative and depressing me again. I can't stand this guy. The only reason I enjoyed reading about his experiences for a little while was because Terry changed him and now she is gone.
