I completely agree with that statement. Probably the one that bothered me the most was Dean's, and at some point Sal's, relationship with Marylou and Camille. I mean both of these women are treated horribly, and they are difinitely treating them like some kind of object htye can just share and take turns with. But what bothers me the most is that they let them do it. They are completely aware of the situtation yet they still act normally and let it all happen to them. I felt bad for the women until Marylou started telling Sal "can't wait till Frisco" when she was obviously with Dean at the moment. They're all messed up.
I wonder if this was something women were used to at the time, or was it something from the beat generation, or if in a way it was Kerouac's fantasy of what things should be like.


oh and about Bull Lee...I feel that in a way all the characters in the book are living like this. I mean, don't they waste their last few dollars on whisky and such instead of feeding themselves. I guess what really made this scenario stand out is the fact that their children are involved. Then it's just selfish in my opinion but we know what drug addicts can be like
