part III

something I found very interesting about this group of chapters is that we learn about a different side of Dean.

Sure, we start off by seeing the whole Camille/Marylou conflict, which got out of hand. For the first time in the book, we learn about someone who basically yells at Dean out loud. We also see him cry, and he has that "look" Sal talks about. I just thought it was interesting that at this point in time, we're learning about another side of Dean. And it is interesting that now the only person left to defend him is Sal.

Another thing I actually found hilarious is when they're driving with the couple and Dean starts driving the way you shouldn't do, and he scares the couple. I could clearly imagine Dean and Sal and a steriotypical tourist couple terrified to death. I just thought that was funny.
