I definitely agree with Evan. This book had a rolling start, and it was just one event after another, but now it's like they're all on downers (which is probably true, too) and everyone's just falling into pieces. However, this story seems so unbelievable if you think about it. A group of friends are driving from state to state in search of something. People come and go as they please. They're driving around naked and being stared at by tourists and truck drivers. Police men are randomly stopping them just for their existence. They find a hitchhiker who promises them his aunt will have money for them, and when they arrive, it turns out the aunt is in jail for shooting her husband... it's so ridiculous, but the way Karouac tells his story is so believable.
