Nothing really new. Dean is a lazy inconsiderate man ho and we all hate him. It doesnt stop there. Sal still follows Dean around like a puppy dog and we all want him to get a life.
Okay, but here's something new. Do you think that Sal might be in love with Dean? Homosexually, I mean.
Also, I really liked the HUGE contrast between Ginsberg's poetry and Kerouacs writing- Ginsberg adds all the details, and Kerouacs pretty general. Reading this book after experiencing that poem earlier today really got me thinking- how much is Kerouac NOT telling us...?
Actually, I don't want to know.
About Sal being in love with Dean...
ReplyDeleteI think we mentioned in class that Kerouac was a HUGE homophobe, and Sal is based on Kerouac, so I don't think he'd be homosexual, only b/c he's so afraid of it.
BUT I think Sal loves Dean in a brotherly sort of way. Like I said a while ago, Sal and Dean only really respect men, and not so much women. So, I think that Sal isn't in love with Dean, we just think so b/c he respects Dean so much more than the women he just throws away.
